Missed reminders due to Apple iPhone text filters

In September 2025, Apple launched automatic text message filtering on the iPhone. This means Bookedin text reminders can sometimes end up in your client's Unknown Senders folder or Spam folder. We've heard some clients say they aren't receiving text reminders, but they simply didn't notice the text was in a new folder.

Here are instructions you can send to clients to help fix this issue so they'll never miss another reminder.

  1. Open iPhone Messages and tap the filter menu.
  2.  Go to your Unknown Senders folder.

  3. Locate a reminder text from Bookedin, tap on the message, scroll down, then tap Mark as known. Repeat for any other Bookedin messages you see. This will ensure all future reminders show up in your main messages folder.
  4. Next, go to your Spam folder.

  5. If you see any Bookedin text messages, tap on it, scroll down then tap Recover. Repeat for all Bookedin messages you see.
  6. Optional: you can also turn off iPhone's text filtering. This will simply put all of your incoming texts into one main folder, as opposed to separating them.
    • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages then scroll down to Message Filtering
    • Toggle OFF Screen Unknown Senders & Filter Spam
